Planned to skate on the path near my house but it was pitch dark so I just went to the basketball court instead. Practiced skating backwards, and I actually did kinda well! I can balance (for the most part) but I can't go very fast yet. The difficult part for me when doing the heel-toe thing is when you have to bring your legs back. I just can't curve them enough to become straight again, and my center of mass always ends up at the very front of my foot :( But I have also gotten a lot better at turning 180! I can do it while moving, finally, and I can actually turn all the way around instead of a half-assed 90 degrees.
